Rams Football – The Rams fell to 0-2 on the season after a fourth-quarter comeback fell just short in a 34-27 home loss to No. 5-ranked Calgary last Friday night at Mosaic Stadium. The team will square off with Alberta on Saturday (5:00 p.m.) in a battle of two teams looking for their first win of the Canada West schedule. Access7 in Regina and area will carry the Canada West Football on Shaw feed live from Edmonton, while 620 CKRM will have the game live on radio.

Women’s Soccer – The Cougars (2-0-0) opened the Canada West schedule with a pair of road victories, defeating Winnipeg 4-1 on Friday and following that up with a 1-0 win over Manitoba on Saturday. Meagan Cormier had a pair of goals and an assist in the Wesmen match, giving the fifth-year striker Canada West First Star of the Week honours. The Cougars are back in action this Saturday with a road match at Saskatchewan (2-0-0) as the two teams battle for the early lead in the conference standings.

Cross Country – It’s the first meet of the season for the Cougars as the team hosts the Cougar Trot this Saturday at Wascana Park. The women’s 5K race gets going at 12:15 p.m. with the men’s 8K race to follow at 12:45 p.m.

Men’s Hockey – The Cougars host the six-team University of Regina Summer Challenge non-conference tournament this weekend at The Co-operators Centre. The U of R plays Saskatchewan on Friday (2:00 p.m.), Lethbridge on Saturday (12:00 p.m.), and Alberta on Sunday (10:30 a.m.).
