Broncos Take Game 1
If you thought the Swift Current Broncos were going to roll over against the Regina Pats after beating Moose Jaw in the first round, think again!
Lane Pederson scored in the game's final minute to send Game 1 into overtime, and Ryley Lindgren won it 15 minutes into Period 4 as Swift Current walked into the Brandt Centre and handed the Pats their first loss of the 2017 playoffs as they snapped a 12 game Regina win streak with a 2-1 win.
Make no doubt about it, Swift Current deserved the win, but they may not have gotten it had it not been for 20 year old netminder Jordan Papirny. He stopped 53 of 54 shots to record the win,
Game 2 is Friday at the Brandt Centre.
