Classic Confrontation

Game 3 of the SJHL final was a beaut. It had it all and just as fans were settling in for a 4th period, it was over. The La Ronge Ice Wolves beat the Yorkton Terriers 4-3 to take a 2-1 series lead in a game that was shown live across Saskatchewan on Access 7 as the league showcased itself and what it can be all about.

It was a back and forth affair, it had great hits, great saves, good action and a little controversy as well. In the end, the league's top two players---Travis Eggum and Marc Andre-Carre--came in on a 2 on 1 with Eggum banging it past Yorkton's Devin Peters to take the victory. They will look to win Game 4 tonight (Access 7-7:30 puck drop) knowing a win and they could wrap things up at home. The Terriers will be trying to make sure the two teams are back in Yorkton Sunday night for a Game 6. The way this series has gone, I wouldn't be surprised.

For those wanting an audio diary of the highlights of Game 3, GX94's Craig Stein has done a great job in mashing together all the goal calls.

The Leafs are out of the playoffs. There is something so beautiful about that sentence.

I don't care what anyone says, PK Subban is over-rated and will be dealt with by someone. The guy's a tool as far as I'm concerned. He might be the OchoCinco of the NHL. Some will say the NHL needs a little colour (no pun intended) from its players on the ice, but the guy still has to earn his stripes as far as I'm concerned. I didn't see Jeremy Roenick acting that way when he was a rookie. He will get schooled by someone.
-----
The Canucks have been beaten twice by the Oilers this week. Sorry Vancouver fans, but you won your trophy this season.
------
Jeff Stoughton continues to lead the way at the World Mens after a pair of wins  yesterday. He is now 7-0. It looked great in the stands with everyone wearing green, but I did not like the green attire worn by Canada. I'm glad they ditched it for the red and white during the game. I did laugh hard though at the Scottish team who came out wearing Rider jerseys. That was funny.  Gainer was even in the stands. Can he throw a curling stone. Cmon Dboe, you should have had Gainer throw a rock. The crowd would have loved it.
-----
Evraz Place is a busy place these days. You have the curling going on in the Brandt Centre and the WCP soccer World Cup happening next door at the Eventplex. That is an event you really should take in just to experience some of Regina;s cultural diversity.
----
Why do I get the feeling I may be in for a looooooooong afternoon nap in my hotel room in Yorkton today.
-----
A question for those who don't normally cast a ballot in an election. Would you do it if you could online?
------
As you sip your morning coffee ask yourself this. Why do they lock the doors at a service station bathroom? Are they afraid someone is going to come in and clean it?

So what did Stackhouse make for vittles? Win any money at the Painted Hand?

Hey Scruffy, are you hearing anything about a WWE date at the Brandt in August? I know Saskatoon has a date booked on Aug 20th.

Subban is a knob and I am a Habs fan. Way over-rated!

Mike...no vittles at Casa de Stackhouse and no money at Painted Hand. I was tired boy when I left rink.

I am hearing about an August date at the Brandt Centre. With Royal Red not coming, it appears WWE might be.

Do you mean Calder trophy winning PK Subban. He has to be rookie of the year!!

I don't think they want Gainers feet on the ice and there aint no slider big enough for that foot.

Shoulda been here Mitch it was great.

With the exception of that annoying intermission host, that was a great hockey game to watch last night. Yorkton needed better goaltending.

Subban is an absolute gem and is already better than ANY of your Oiler Defensemen. Enjoy yet another season as the worst team in the NHL and not enjoying playoff hockey for yet another season Mitch!
So the guy celebrated an OT winner that sent his team to the playoffs (look up definition of playoff in the dictionary for reference).

Subban is an embarassment. Pay your dues son. You aren't as good as you think you are.

WWE in August you say. RAW or Smackdown performers?

Jeff Skinner is the rookie of the year. Subban won't even be one of the three nominees. Book it.

"The Leafs are out of the playoffs" does not sound nearly as good as "the Oilers are the worst team in the NHL". Bahahaha!!!
