Off To The North

Not much to say today as I'm about to make the long trek to La Ronge for Game 5 of the SJHL finals. The hometown Ice Wolves and Yorkton are tied at two in what has been a very entertaining series. In fact, I haven't seen something like this since the Vancouver-Medicine Hat WHL final a few years ago. There is nothing that separates these two teams and I expect that to continue tonight at what should be a raucous Mel Hegland Arena. I just hope I don't get with a fish. They throw them on the ice after an Ice Wolves goal and I will be on the ice doing interviews for Access.

I'm a little choked with our Canadian sports channels this morning. The NCAA Frozen Four semi=finals were played last night. This is also great hockey. Minnesota-Duluth played Notre Dame in one semi with North Dakota playing Michigan in the other. I would have thought TSN, TSN2, Sportsnet, SportsnetOne, the Score or the NHL Network might pick up the games. NOPE!! Why not? Thank goodness I found a feed of ESPN 2 to watch the N. Dakota-Michigan game, but its not the same watching a game from the kitchen table on your computer as it is lounging on the couch watching the bigscreen. I realize TSN wouldn't have the game with the curling on, but this event needs to be picked up by someone. These stations pick up a bunch of other crap from ESPN so why not the Frozen Four?

Is there ever a time when Augusta National isn't immaculate? Who is Alviro Quiroz and will he still be a part of the equation Sunday?
------
The 1-2 game goes at the Worlds tonight with Jeff Stoughton taking on Tommy Brewster of Scotland. The winner goes to the final. I won't be surprised if this is the final.
------
See ya tonight from La Ronge. Remember Game 5 is LIVE on Access starting at 730 with Mike Stackhouse and Jay Boyd.

Scruff, I was at the practice rounds at Augusta on Monday and Tuesday and the place is even more immaculate than the TV shows. It is unreal, the fairways are nicer than the carpet in my house, and even the bathrooms on course are very nice.

You gotta go some time
