Regina Pats General Manager, Chad Lang announced today that the Pats will not renew the contracts of Assistant Coach Shaun Sutter and Goaltending Coach, Ryan Cyr for the upcoming season. The Pats missed the playoffs this season after finishing 10th in the Eastern Conference with a 23-39-7-3 mark in 2010-11.
"These decisions are always tough to make, with a number of factors to take into consideration, however after a lengthy review process we felt it was time to make a change.” Regina Pats General Manager Chad Lang continues, “I would like to thank Shaun and Ryan for the hard work they have provided the Regina Pats organization during their time with the team and wish the two of them the best in the future.”
The search to fill both of these positions will begin immediately.

Congrats Shaun. You are now out of the gong show known as the Regina Pats organization.
Sutter goes and Hunt/Ripplinger stay. Gee, I wonder why I'm not getting season tickets this year!

The assistant goes and the head guy stays. Another brilliant move by one Brent Parker. I'm guessing he ordered this hit.

You know what's awesome about the crew running the Pats organization?
Yeah, me neither.
So..........sacrificial lamb here or what? The obvious decision should be to remove the rest of the losing culture that is deeply rooted in here. It is time now for the franchise to come before the friendship that Parker has with Hunt and ripplinger.
If Sutter is going to be sent packing, why aren't Hunt and Ripplinger. This organization continues to flounder and will continue doing so until top notch people are brought in. Chad Lang is not that person, but anyone with any hockey sense won't work for Parker so what are you gonna do?

Hunchak wins 40 and is sent packing. The Pats win what 25 games and Hunt is still here and then Lang says its because he has one year left. MAKE THE MOVE!!
Great show with you and Rod today Scruff. The bottom line is people aren't buying tickets anymore because they are fed up with the current regime. The current regime won't bring us competitive hockey so our $$$$ will be spent elsewhere. Its as simple as that!
I thought Chad Lang had some nuts. It would appear as if he doesn't and that Brent Parker still pulls the string. CMON CHAD!! Today's announcement is weak as were your comments. This team just spirals further and further into a state of disrepair.

Why would Brent endorse Curtis' firing when he has a year left on his contract. The team is losing money and the last thing Brent and/or Russ wants to do is pay two coaches. This move doesn't surprise me at all when it comes to the business side of things.
