So if you went to the Brandt Centre last night, were you expecting Canada to win in rather easy fashion? Did you think it was just a chance for them to skate around and strut their stuff in front of the coaches. If you stayed home, why? For 10 bucks, you got to see some of the best players in this country---many of them future NHL'ers do their thing. There should have been many more in the building last night than what there was and in the end, the team made up of Cougar and Husky players beat the Canadians 4-2 in what has to be termed as a huge upset.
Final cuts are made today. Its Canada vs the Swedes in a pre-tournament game Sunday night at the Brandt Centre in a 7 o'clock start in a game that I'm told is virtually sold out.

This nine game road trip isn't going well for the Pats. They lost 3-2 in Red Deer in a game that couldn't have been very good according to Pats media guy and analyst Dan Plaster who told me on the way home that it was a very ugly game both to watch and to call.

It would appear as if the Madden jinx is alive and well. Cover boys on the popular video game have a tough year when they appear on the box and its happened again this year. Steelers safety Troy Polamulu has only played in a handful of games due to a bad knee and now a knee injury leaves Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald questionable for a game this weekend against Detroit. If this is the case, can we have Tony Romo on the cover next year?
