The NHL has ruled on Alex Ovechkin's controversial hit on Brian Campbell yesterday. The Washington forward will sit for the next two games after being suspended for the second time this season.

An unnecessary and dangerous "push". Everyone knows who's played the game how vulnerable Campbell is in that position just as eevryone knows that Savard really didn't have a chance to defend himself either. It's not about "keeping your head up" or "protecting yourself", its about guys who take unnecessary advantge of players in vulnerable positions... and it needs to stop.
Just take all the hitting out of the game so that Johnny Weir and Patrick Chan can start playing. In all seriousness, Bettman ignores the Cooke hit which should have been 20 or more and punishes Ovechkin for what was a good hit. Its no wonder the NHL is considered a joke!
R$ that wasn't a hit. That was a push, and considered boarding by hockey standards. I'm with Perry thinking that Ovy should count his stars it's only 2 games
