Not Yet!

The Calgary Hitmen had a chance to end the WHL season, but the Tri-City Americans decided to extend things for at least one more game. With Calgary poised to win the Ed Chynoweth Cup with a four game sweep, the Americans prevented it from happening and forced a Game 5 back in Calgary with a 4-2 win. That 5th game will go at the Saddledome on Friday night. I'd be surprised if it went back to Tri-Cities for a Game 6.

A friend of mine complained the other day that Dustin Byfuglien had been a bust in these Stanley Cup playoffs and that he blew that pick in his playoff draft. Bust no more. Byfuglien made life rough for Roberto Luongo as he had the hat-trick (although some sites say he had two goals and an assist) as Chicago takes a 2-1 series lead against Vancouver after a 5-2 victory. Its definitely a better Chicago team than the one Vancouver pasted in the opener.

Looks like Boston will play Pittsburgh or Montreal in the East final. They now lead Philly 3 games to none after a 4-1 win. Say what you will about Jaroslav Halak in these playoffs, but I think the best goalie in the playoffs this year has been Tuukka Rask. Didn't the Leafs have him too at one point? Oh yeah, they sent Andrew Raycroft to the Leafs to get Rask. Did Brian Burke make that trade too?

If I could start an NHL franchise and I had my pick of players, Mike Richards would be one of the first three I take. How can you not love the way he plays the game!

Rumours suggest the Oilers want another first round pick in this year's draft. It is said Edmonton wants someone in the 15-20 range and that the player they really like is Warriors forward Quinton Howden. Edmonton does need size up front and he would fit that bill.

Every time I see Rick Campanelli on Entertainment Tonight Canada, I see Rick the Temp from MuchMusic fame. That will never change. I would just like to clarify that the only time I see ET Canada is just before I watch Global News at 11. Speaking of MuchMusic VJ's, whatever happened to Amanda Walsh?

I am not sure, but if you have a pregnant wife and you are trying to come out of the Victoria Square Mall at Fleet and turning left, your kid may be getting ready to start kindergarten by the time the light turns green again. If you get stuck on the red there, you wait for what seems an eternity. Speaking of left hand turns, if the city has traffic lights at certain intersections that have a turn left indicator on them, why aren't they used. Like the one at Albert and Regina Avenue or the one at Albert where you turn into Wascana Park at the Legislature.

Have you seen the CNNSI story on Ben Roethlisberger? This guy is not having a good off-season. The more you hear about him, the bigger douchebag he is. Good quarterback yes, good human being, NO!

When I heard Jesse Lumsden had been let go by the Eskimos, I shuddered at the thought of Rider fans wanting to bring Jesse here. Thankfully, I have not seen a thread on that on the two main fanboards.

If you have a Regina business, and you want to become involved with the Regina Red Sox this season by getting an ad in the program or more, call Tim at 586-5119. He can help you out. With the weather being the way it is, its hard to think the Red Sox start another WMBL season at the end of the month.

The Phoenix Suns are looking great in the NBA playoffs with Steve Nash leading the way. I'd love to see Nash get by Kobe and the Lakers and try their luck against Orlando or Cleveland in the NBA finals. I guess I shouldn't discount Atlanta or Boston when making that statement.

Its a long ways away yet, but the website for Buffalo Days is up. Go to http://www.thequeencityex.com/ and check it out. No word yet on the entertainment. Is Hammer coming back?

Tim Tebow apparently had the number one sold jersey on NFL.com in the month of April after being drafted by Denver. I'm guessing Rob Vanstone bought both a light and dark one. In fact, he may have purchased two of each.

Who invented toilet paper? If we didn't have that, what would we use when we were done doing the deed.

That's all I got. Make your Thursday a good one.

Hawk's Bolland better tune it down, or Kamsack native Darcy Hordichuk may be inserted in the lineup to ask Bolland to dance. I wouldn't like to see what would happen if Hordichuk lights him up

The Tuukka Rask deal was one that John Ferguson Jr made.

I thought at the time that this kid (Rask) must really be something. then I saw him play at the world juniors. he was absolutely lights out. but the problem was no one on his team could score. (Sound familiar bruin fans ?)

He's been really solid. in these playoffs, that's what you need, solid. some games really good and some game solid, but not hot and cold like Halak. He was solid in game 3 but 18 shots on goal aren't going to get it done.
