Pats Name Assistants

Regina Pats General Manager Chad Lang is proud to announce the hiring of Malcolm Cameron and Josh Dixon as assistant coaches.

Malcolm comes to the club with a impressive coaching resume. He has spent the past nine seasons as a Head Coach in the ECHL, missing the playoffs just twice in that span while twice taking teams to the conference finals. Three all-star games and a runner-up for coach of the year three times highlight his coaching career in the ECHL. Prior to coaching pro, Malcolm was an assistant coach with the Acadia University Axemen (CIS) for two seasons where the Axemen won back to back Atlantic University conference titles.
“I am extremely proud and excited to join such a storied organization as the Regina Pats. It has been a goal of mine for the last several years to make the jump from Minor professional league hockey to the Major Junior ranks, and I am very fortunate that my first job comes with Regina.” Assistant Coach Malcolm Cameron continues, “I would like to thank General Manager, Chad Lang and Head Coach Pat Conacher for the opportunity and I look forward to a fun and exciting season ahead.”
Josh brings with him a strong coaching background in the CIS and with the prestigious Okanagan Hockey Academy where he was the Head Coach for the varsity team this past season. Prior to that Josh was an assistant coach with the Mount Royal Cougars (ACAC), University of Calgary and Carlton University.

Assistant Coach Josh Dixon, "I would like to thank Chad Lang and Pat Conacher for this tremendous opportunity to coach with a storied franchise and in a great hockey city like Regina. I am honored to be a member of the Regina Pats and look forward to playing a role in creating a championship program on the ice and developing exemplary citizens in the community."

Regina Pats General Manager Chad Lang, “We are happy to have Malcolm and Josh join our coaching staff. Both individuals come with a wealth of experience and are well educated with university degrees. We believe their coaching experience and educational background will be an asset to our players and program moving forward.”

Regina Pats Head Coach Pat Conacher, “Malcolm comes to us with an extensive pro coaching background and has had success at all levels. He is a hard worker who is a great tactician and can communicate well with the players.”

“Josh is a diligent individual with a wealth of hockey knowledge from coaching at the university levels. He committed himself fully to the Okanagan Hockey School where he was a full time coach helping young players enhance their skill levels as well as working with them on and off the ice.”

“I’m thrilled to have both Malcolm and Josh on the Pats coaching staff and can’t wait to begin working with them in preparation for the upcoming season.”

Both Malcolm and Josh will join the Pats immediately to prepare for training camp in late August.
