I guess we shouldn't complain because the weather has been pretty good for Rider practices this year, but the last half of Rider practice was watched from the tunnel thanks to the early afternoon rain and the fact I don't know where my umbrella is. I can tell you a few things though..
--There's another receiver in town. Former U of S Husky Scott McHenry is with the team after being released by Winnipeg. He takes the spot that would normally be occupied by Jordan Sisco. If you didn't know, the former Ram broke his wrist.
--Wes Cates will be back in the lineup and Cates, Darian Durant and Ken Miller are all pleased about that. A Cates story for Riderville.com will be coming tomorrow sometime.
--Barrin Simpson won't play which hurts the Rider defence because of his rib injury. James Patrick is going to move from safety to linebacker for this one with Craig Butler taking Patrick's spot. Chris Graham is going to be the man in the middle.
--Head Coach Ken Miller thinks big things can be brought courtesy Dallas Baker. The receiver will take Terrence Nunn's spot in the lineup.
--I didn't see the comment, but apparently Winnipeg defensive co-ordinator Tim Burke has called Darian Durant 'The Michael Vick of the CFL". The last I checked, Durant was not a criminal.
The CBC"s Glenn Reid also asked a good question today. Has Buck Pierce ever played a whole game at Mosaic Stadium? I recall him playing very well for BC one year and playing the whole game, but it was suggested he may have come in to replace a struggling Jarious Jackson. Not sure.
