Regina Pats President, Brent Parker announced today that the Regina Pats and Evraz Place have come to terms on a new Lease Agreement that will keep the Pats as the main tenant and the sole hockey tenant in the Brandt Centre for at least the next five (5) years.
"We are pleased that we are able to announce a longer term lease agreement with Evraz Place. The process has been long and at times frustrating for both parties but with the help of our legal counsel Neil Tulloch and the cooperation of Neil Donnelly from Evraz we were able to find some common ground." Commented Pats President Brent Parker .
Negotiations had started over 14 months ago and The Pats and Evraz have been without a lease since May 31, 2011 when the past three year agreement had expired.
“We are extremely pleased to enter the season with a new long-term agreement in place” said Neil Donnelly, Vice President Events and Entertainment for Evraz Place. “Although the process took longer that both parties had hoped, some very good dialogue took place that we believe will be beneficial in our joint effort to provide a great fan experience”
Added Pats President Brent Parker “It is important to put the negotiations behind us and focus on working together to put people in the seats. We need to improve the fan experience at the Brandt Centre and make it an enjoyable place for our fans. The only way we achieve this is with a strong partnership between us and our building.”
