I Didn't Think the Cowboys Were That Bad

I knew the Cowboys weren't that good with Tony Romo as their quarterback, but I didn't think they were that bad. Those that root for the Cowboys (yes, I'm looking at you Duke Meyers) have to be disgusted with the play of that squad. They didn't even look interested as they got spanked in Green Bay Sunday night. Their season is over, but when is Wade Phillips tenure as Cowboys coach over. Its time for the Jason Garrett era to begin.

Two weeks ago, Tony Dungy called the Seahawks the best team in the NFC. Since then, the Seahawks have been outscored 74-10. That performance at home against the Giants was absolutely embarassing. I openly wondered if Charlie Whitehurst might not let Matt Hasselbeck regain the starting quarterback duty. I now wonder if Whitehurst will ever step on the field wearing a Seahawks jersey again. He and the rest of the team were just putrid. Seattle needs to start developing a young quarterback or get someone in free agency.

Brett Favre is getting counted out by almost everyone and then he comes through with a 442 yard performance against Arizona where he leads his team to two TD's in the final four minutes and a drive in OT that results in a game-winning field goal. The problem here is that he just can't do this every week. The flashes of brilliance are still there, but they're not consistent.

Cleveland has beaten the Saints and Patriots this year? Cleveland?

You gotta feel for Jesse Lumsden.

Eric Tillman is speaking out in the Edmonton Journal. It doesn't sound good for Richie Hall. The early scuttlebutt is that Kavis Reed would be the Eskimos new head coach. Eric told me once that he thought Kavis could be Ken Miller's successor.

There is nothing wrong with sitting on the couch watching NFL Sunday Ticket on a November day when it was plus 17 outside.

In the Detroit-Jets game, the Lions needed a substitute kicker so they got I'm not even going to try and spell his first name Suh to kick---he missed. In the Cleveland-Patriots game, Wes Welker had to kick instead of Stephen Gostkowski. So this means that three people who shouldn't have been kicking this weekend are Suh, Welker and Warren Kean.

A headline that isn't surprising "The Yankees contact Cliff Lee's agent as free agency begins".
-----
Do you think the Jays will get enough of an increase in the budget to sign one or two free agents that can help the team? A new 1st and 3rd baseman would be OK. I say 3rd baseman if the plan is to keep Jose Bautista in the outfield. If he stays at 3rd, then a right fielder.

Its Monday so if you have to substitute the coffee in the coffee pot with dark rum, I say go for it!

What has happened to your Seahawks Mitchy. A 2nd straight week of getting their lunch handed to them. They are bad!

As long as Kent Austin is NOT going to be the new coach of the Eskimos, I don't care if Reed is.

Anyone else hear that rumour ?
