Bates Gets Traded To Edmonton

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today they have traded non-import offensive lineman Kelly Bates to the Edmonton Eskimos for a selection in the 2014 CFL Canadian Draft.

The Saskatchewan product originally signed with the Riders as a free agent in February, 2010. After training camp, Bates was placed on the team’s nine-game injured list.

Bates was originally drafted by the B.C. Lions in the 4th round (32nd overall) in the 2001 CFL Draft. He was then traded to Winnipeg in 2009. Since joining the CFL, the Humboldt native has played 221 regular season games with the Lions and Blue Bombers.

After what we saw Sunday from the 0-line, I don't know if I like this move.
