Off to Round 2

The Regina Pats are the first team to reach Round 2 of the WHL playoffs.
Two goals by Adam Brooks including a shorthanded marker in the second period was all Regina needed as they completed a 4 game sweep of the Swift Current Broncos with a 4-0 win. Daniel Wapple stopped 24 shots to record his first career playoff shutout.
The team played the game without the services of defenceman James Hilsendager who was suspended for a head shot on Swift Current's Jake Debrusk in Game 3.
It is the first playoff win for the Pats since the 2007 season and the first sweep they have had since the 1998 season.
Regina will now meet the Brandon Wheat Kings in Round 2. The Wheat Kings polished off the defending Memorial Cup champion Edmonton Oil Kings with a double overtime win in Game 5 Wednesday night/Thursday morning. The series will begin in Brandon Friday April 10.

I wonder what Brent Parker thinks about this.

Oh yeah, WHO CARES!!!!

I can finally be proud of the team I've grown up watching.

Thank you QCSE for buying this team!

Thought Pats would win, but not 4 straight.

Bring on Brandon!

Most of these guys are 16 or 17 years old (I won't mention them all, look it up). This team is built to be #1 next year and year after.

I thought the Pats would win this series, but I didn't think they would broom the Broncos.

Brandon is damn tough, but Regina will give them a good battle.
