In no particular order, here are some players to watch for tonight when the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers meet at Mosaic Stadium.
SAM EGUAVOEN -- The Riders linebacker was making an impact last year when he went down with a knee injury. Eguavoen returns to the lineup Saturday as the man in the middle replacing the injured Henoc Muamba. It will be no easy task trying to account for Andrew Harris, but it will be interesting to see how Eguavoen handles himself in his first game back.. He says he has been chomping at the bit waiting to get back on the field. Let's see how he does.
WESTON DRESSLER - Many Rider fans still wish Dressler was wearing green-and-white, and I think Weston would probably tell you he'd like to be doing that too. Dressler showed us last year he still has it as he had yet another 1000 yard season. Is he slowing down as he gets older? I doubt it, but you know he would love nothing more than to have a huge game and perhaps score the first TD at the new building.
TYLER CRAPIGNA - This one shouldn't need much explanation. Crapigna's missed kick on the game's final play turned what looked to be a "W" into an "L". Crapigna knows what happened. It's not the first time he has missed a field goal, and it won't be the last. I don't expect him to have what happened in Montreal linger into this game. If it does, then perhaps you consider Quinn Van Gylswyk, but Chris Jones is showing him a vote of confidence by staying with him and not making a change.
MOSAIC STADIUM -- It isn't a player to watch, but it is a venue that is now the best in the CFL. It makes its debut tonight and I am guessing many across Canada will look and go "This is in Regina?". Yes it is, and the reason for that is the fan-base. You deserve a first-class facility and you have it. Enjoy your new home! It is something to behold.
Enjoy the game!
