CFL Recognizes Freeman

 

Saskatchewan Roughrider linebacker Jerrell Freeman has been named the CFL’s Gibson’s Finest Defensive Player of the Week.

 

In the Riders 27-7 Labour Day victory over the Blue Bombers, Freeman recorded seven defensive tackles, one forced fumble, one quarterback sack and one interception.

 

So far this season, Freeman has tallied a career high 49 defensive tackles, three quarterback sacks, three special team tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

 

Freeman joins teammate Chris Getzlaf who was also named a CFL player of the week earlier this season.

Freeman is an animal, I'd sure like to get him on a three year contract. Hear that Brendon?

Freeman NFL bound after this season. I've been saying that since the fall of 2010.
