CFL Fines Emry and Bowman

The Canadian Football League announced today that it has fined Montreal Alouettes linebacker Shea Emry for his inappropriate actions in Saturday’s game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Emry was flagged on the play and ejected from the game.

The decision was made following a hearing with Commissioner Mark Cohon earlier today.

The CFL also announced that it has fined Alouettes defensive end John Bowman for his comments that appeared in a newspaper article on Monday October 22, 2012 that publicly criticized an opponent, which is in violation of our Collective Bargaining Agreement.

As per league policy, player fine amounts are not disclosed.

A fine!!! God, I hope Emry can play this week with the sore wrist he will have after getting slapped.

You had to know Cohon wasn't going to suspend a Montreal Allouette. They are the East's darlings. Every decision the CFL has ever made is based on the East's preference how else do you explain the 100th Grey Cup being played in the city with the smallest attendance numbers.

Why would the 100th GC be played in Toronto. Oh I don't know, lets try these reasons

1)Canada's biggest city
2) The home of corporate Canada
3)Biggest venue in Canada

Need I go further.

That might be one of the stupidest comments I have ever read on this blog, Pedersen's blog or any other blog that I frequent.

Football seating capacity:

66,308 Olympic Stadium
63,317 Commonwealth Stadium
53,506 Roger's Centre

For historical reasons, I agree that the 100th Grey Cup should be in Toronto. Going forward, hopefully the CFL moves to more of a regular rotation for the Grey Cup host, so that each team can have an equal chance to add to their bottom line.
