Saskatchewan Roughrider head coach Ken Miller announced today the Roughriders have acquired non-import defensive back Sasha Glavic and Hamilton’s third round pick (17th overall) in tomorrow’s 2009 CFL Canadian Draft. In return, the Roughriders traded non-import linebacker Yannick Carter, import receiver Brandon Myles and Saskatchewan’s 3rd round pick (22nd overall) in tomorrow’s 2009 CFL Canadian Draft.
Glavic (6’3 – 191 lbs) dressed in ten games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last season as a backup defensive back and special teams player. Even after missing eight games due to injury last season, Glavic excelled on special teams finishing the season with 13 special teams tackles. The 25-year old dressed in nine games for Hamilton in his rookie season of 2007. Prior to joining the Tiger-Cats, Glavic played five seasons (2002-06) with the University of Windsor. He finished his college career with 242 total tackles and 18 pass knockdowns. He was named a first team OUA All-Star in 2005 and 2007.
