The Sounds of Silence

Another game, another loss for the Riders. They gave up 14 points in the first quarter and that was too much for them to overcome as another tough effort on offence resulted in just 10 points as they were beaten 17-10. Here are the comments of Head Coach Corey Chamblin, Darian Durant, Keith Shologan and Eddie Russ. The Durant interview is of interest as he makes a couple of statements that I'm sure will fuel debate for a couple of days.

My thoughts on this one will come later. I'm sure you'll be able to cope until then and if not, oh well. Time for a good stiff double if you know what I mean.

Hawkins' post game interview on RM and Shologan's interview here makes me think all is not right and that there is a deep divide when it comes to Richie. Right or wrong?

Hopson had the stones to fire Marshall and Berry last year. Does he have the stones to tell Hall and Dyce to get the F out this year? I doubt it!

I like Darian, but he did take a headshot we didn't see today. He's crazy if he thinks that team as it stands today is better than 09 and 10.

"They gave up 14 points in the first quarter and that was too much for them to overcome." You can only say that about a bad football team. Offence is pitiful with worst receiving corps in the league by far.

The Riders now have a 8-18 record under Taman and its going to get worse by the end of this year. Can't say I am surprised one bit when I look at his overall record as a GM in the CFL

Riders will be, at best, 4-7 in short order. Might win next week then Wpg. and Mtl. will be losses.I say might win next week (remember, a team wins the game after a coach is fired probably 90% of the time). OH YEAH sick of this team.

That O-line is a mess. The two tackles especially Fulton were terrible. So much for Kris Sweet being this incredible coach

They could have blown this thing up at the end of last season, like they should have.

Bring in a real GM (maybe Joe Womack) let him hire some credible coaches, set up a real scouting network, and get back to our ways of 07-08. But no they extend Taman who has never done anything as a GM. The re-title O'Day who has a year of GM experience, zero in scouting, and lead by Hopson. This garbage no longer instills confidence in any fan. It's a type of old boys club returning with Hopson at the head of it. Much like the Shivers era. The only great thing Hopson did was hire ET. The worst thing he ever did was fire him.

We've started into a tailspin after ET left and it's culminated in what you see today. A group of inept management, running a group of inept coaches, who are trying to coach inept players. Now we see what a big loss Fantuz was. You cant replace Thoroughbreds with Clydsdales. But then again you have to have ability to know the difference.

This is just getting worse and worse and worse! The season isn't over though as there is a lot of football to be played. I still think they can get on a roll but they have to take their collective heads out of their ass. Good on Darian for calling the receivers together, now call the whole team together.

I can only wonder how big the grin is on Marshall's face when he watches this team implode.

Right on Bryan!
