A few years ago there was a player from Calder, Phil Sobkow, who was drafted by the Dodgers. Big kid, pitcher. His dad is the coach of the Yorkton Cardinals in the WMBL. He ended up playing for the Winnipeg Goldeyes in the Northern League, but faded off into the sunset.
