WHL Player of the Month for October is Warriors Brayden Point






The Western Hockey League announced today that Moose Jaw Warriors forward Brayden Point is the WHL Player of the Month for October 2015.

Point, a 19-year-old from Calgary, AB amassed 28 points (11g-17a) to go along with a plus-seven rating in 12 games played during October after being returned from the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning. Point recorded multiple-point outings on 10 occasions, including five occasions in which he collected at least three points to lead the Warriors to a record of 7-3-1-1 in October. Point also recorded one hat trick and was named the WHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 11th, 2015.

Point’s performances in October saw him earn three first star honours, two second star selections and three third star nods. The forward’s efforts during October have helped Moose Jaw maintain a playoff spot in the WHL’s Eastern Conference as they sit in third place in the East Division.

The 5-11, 165 lb forward is leading all WHL players in scoring with 28 points and his 17 assists are tied for second amongst all skaters. Point is in his fourth WHL season with the Warriors and has tallied 266 points (111g-155a) in 217 career regular season contests. The Tampa Bay Lightning selected Point in the third round, 79th overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft.
