Vikings Cut Brett Jones

Despite having a solid pre-season. the Minnesota Vikings released offensive lineman Brett Jones on Tuesday afternoon.

Jones, who was traded to the Vikings last season by the New York Giants, has spent three years in the NFL.

Before that, the Weyburn product who played for the University of Regina Rams, played for the Calgary Stampeders where he was named the league's top rookie in 2013 and the best offensive lineman in 2014.

If no team claims him and he decides to return to the CFL, he would be a free agent.
