--The Ottawa REDBLACKS walked into Winnipeg and beat the Bombers 44-21. With the victory, Ottawa is 6-3 on the season while the Bombers are 4-4. Trevor Harris threw for 361 yards and a touchdown.
--Saturday's game in Edmonton between the Eskimos and Alouettes may not go as scheduled. The smoke from the BC wildfires is very thick in Edmonton and poses as a health hazard. The Eskimos and CFL will release a statement on Saturday at noon about whether or not the game will go ahead.
--The Prairie Football Conference season begins tonight and it starts with a dandy at Mosaic Stadium. It's an all-Saskatchewan battle as the Hilltops meet the Thunder in a 7 o'clock start.
--A person familiar with the negotiations says free agent Dez Bryant has concluded his visit with the Browns without agreeing to a contract, but ``conversations continue.'' The former star receiver for the Cowboys and his agent met with Cleveland officials over two days. Bryant was cut by Dallas in April.
--Former UFC superstar Ronda Rousey says she is really enjoying her time in WWE and is having second thoughts on how long she will stay in the ring, Rousey, who is to meet Alexa Bliss in one of the marquee matches at Summerslam Sunday, says she is loving it more than she ever thought she would and that it would be hard to stop Rousey had said her time in WWE would not be long as her and husband Travis Browne are looking to have a baby.
