Rams Football (U SPORTS Ranking: No. 6) – The Rams (1-1) are at home for the next two weekends beginning with a game against Alberta this Saturday. Regina is coming off a road loss to No. 3-ranked Calgary which saw four lead changes in the first half before the Dinos pulled away late for a 46-26 victory. The Rams and the Golden Bears (0-2) will kick off on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium (620 CKRM, SaskTel maxTV 48/348, CanadaWest.tv).

Women’s Soccer – The Cougars (0-0-2) kicked off the conference season on the road last weekend, picking up two points with a 0-0 tie against Manitoba and a 1-1 draw against Winnipeg. Rookie forward Sally Bachmann scored the Cougars' first goal of the season while Savannah Williams was steady in net both nights. The Cougars open up their Canada West home schedule this weekend against UBC Okanagan (Saturday) and Thompson Rivers (Sunday) at the U of R Field. Both matches will kick off at noon.

Cross Country – The men’s and women’s teams start the season at home with the Cougar Trot this Saturday at Wascana Centre. The meet will start at 11:45 a.m. with the Peewee and Bantam divisions, and the University races will follow at 12:15 p.m. (women) and 12:45 (men). The meet will finish up with the Midget, Youth, and Masters divisions at 1:15 and 1:30. After this weekend, the Cougars will be back in action on Sept. 30 at the University of Saskatchewan Open.

Men’s Hockey – The Cougars will open up their 2017-18 season this weekend with a pair of exhibition games, first meeting the Saskatchewan Huskies for a showdown at Ochapowace First Nation on Thursday night (7:00) and then at The Co-operators Centre against the Calgary Dinos on Friday night (8:00). Two other U SPORTS preseason games not involving the Cougars will also be held at The Co-operators Centre this weekend – Manitoba and Saskatchewan will play on Friday night (5:00), and Calgary and Manitoba will meet Saturday afternoon (2:00). Admission is free for all games.

Women’s Hockey – The Cougars played two non-conference games against Manitoba on the weekend, with the Bisons coming away with 2-1 and 4-2 wins. Regina is back in action this weekend, taking part in the MacEwan Invitational Tournament in Edmonton. The Cougars will square off against NAIT on Friday, MacEwan on Saturday, and Alberta on Sunday morning.
