What Did You Miss Thursday?

--The Riders are 3-4. Mike Reilly ran one in from the one late in the 4th quarter for the winning score in a 26-19 Edmonton win. They are now 5-2.

--McLeod Bethel-Thompson completed a touchdown pass to Armanti Edwards with one second left on the clock and the Toronto Argonauts snapped their three game losing streak with a 42-41 win at home over the Ottawa Redblacks. Ottawa jumped out to a 28-7 lead after the first half, but Toronto clawed its way back in the second as Bethel-Thompson threw for four T-Ds.

--Buffalo has acquired goal-scoring winger Jeff Skinner from Carolina in exchange for prospect forward Cliff Pu and three draft picks, including a second-round selection in 2019. Skinner is a three-time 30 goal-scorer and was the N-H-L's rookie of the year in 2011.

--Steve Pearce homered three times and had six R-B-Is in the Boston Red Sox 15-7 assault on the New York Yankees. The win put the Sox 6-and-a-half games ahead the Yanks in the A-L East.

--The Regina Red Sox beat Swift Current 10-9 in a back and forth game to take a 2-1 lead in their WMBL best of five series. Game 4 is at Currie Field Friday.

Reilly made two great throws. One on the TD to Walker, one on the play to Stafford. Didn't like the result, but pleased with the effort.

Who is responsible for the lineup snafu? Murphy? O'Day? Didn't play a huge role in the game, but that's a big-time oops in my books.

Seeing Maas beat up a water cooler showed me again how I would much rather have Jones than that idiot. Rider Nation would spin into the grave if Maas was here. Extremely embarassing.

Vanstone showing himself off again as the bitter little troll that isn't as important as he thinks. The guy just embarrasses himself time and time again. Today's column is example 1045 of that.

Soon, the LP will be extinct and he will just go away.

Three guys look over a lineup and none can see Moncrief is on there when he shouldn't be? That is called not being prepared. Then again, this is a coaching staff that had its best offensive player playing on the wrong side of the ball for the first third of the season.

Stopped following Vanstone on Twitter months ago. Guy just looks for one negative after another. He says he likes to hang out in Wascana Park so much so perhaps he should do that for all remaining games including those in November. As Scott says, the LP will soon go away and so will he

Lost in the shuffle of the Riders game is the Argos comeback! #seasonchanger

Why Watford and not Bridge on short yardage? Would think Bridge would be a better option in those plays.

Jones will be around longer than the LP. It will leave the grumpy scribe resorting to putting columns on a signboard as he walks outside the stadium to get his message across.

His obvious hate for Jones hoping to lure whatever readers he has left to his side is disgraceful. Bob Hughes he isn't!

GO RED SOX!!

Whose plate does handing the lineup fall onto? How does that mistake get made? No one looked at it and saw Moncrief on there and said wait a minute!

So Vanstone is getting slaughtered for seeing through Jones' smoke and mirrors.

Both Vanstone and Davis have had a hate on for Jones from the time he walked in the door.

Was great to see Collaros come back and spark some life into the offence. Riders wouldn't have the record they do if Zach was healthy. Not a perfect game and the short yardage offence definitely needs some work, but as long as they stay healthy I like the way they look.

The stupidest play in professional sports. They all do it, not just the Riders. |Why would you put 23 bodies in 15 square feet and then try to run through it?

McAdoo's play-calling was once again weak.

Vanstone's column after the Calgary game was pure brilliance and was bang on
Vanstone's column after the Edmonton game was just a personal attack on Jones. Mistakes are made. Get over it! It's not like the player who was ineligible was Collaros, Carter, Jefferson or Hughes.
