--If Saskatoon gets its way, the 2021 Olympic Curling Trials could be hosted by them. Curl Saskatoon has reportedly put in a bid to host the event which would determine what rinks would represent Canada in four-player curling at the 2022 Olympics. It is thought Curling Canada will name a host venue by the end of the year.
--The Weyburn Beavers beat Regina 10-3 to take a 2-1 lead in the best of 5 WMBL East final. Game 4 is at Currie Field. First pitch is at 705.
--After opening the 2018 Canadian Little League baseball championship in Mirabel, Quebec with a 2-0 record, the Kiwanis National Little League team from Regina lost its last 4 to finish with a record of 2-4. That 4th loss came at the hands of the host team who beat them 12-1 on Wednesday.
--The San Francisco 49ers will honour former tight end Dwight Clark with a season-long celebration of his life that will include unveiling a statue of ``The Catch.'' Clark died in June at age 61. He suffered from A-L-S. His famously caught the winning touchdown pass in the 1982 N-F-C championship game, setting the 49ers up for their first Super Bowl title.
--Golf's final major of the season begins in St. Louis today as the PGA Championship is held. Justin Thomas is the defending champ.
