Provincial Scotties Begins In Balgonie

The Provincial SaskPower Scotties Tournament of Hearts is set to go Wednesday at the Balgonie Stardome with the top twelve women's curling teams making a run for a National Scotties berth.

The favoured teams are top-ranked Stefanie Lawton of Saskatoon and defending champion, Michelle Englot of Regina. Amber Holland, former Canadian Champion and World Silver-medalist is also amoung the top rinks at the event.

The twelve teams have been seeded into two pools of six teams each and will play a five-game round-robin with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the page playoff.

The first draw goes at 2:00 pm Wednesday with only two games while all four sheets will be on the go Wednesday night at 7:30 pm.

Saskcurl.com is the best way to keep up with the scores and tune in to Access 7 wherever you are across this fine province of ours on Sunday as they will have the semi-final and final live with yours truly and Mark Lang on the call with Arielle Wood rink-side.
