Reilly Is An Eskimo

The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club acquired import quarterback Mike Reilly from the BC Lions.

Reilly joins the Eskimos after three seasons with the Lions where he completed 55 of 77 passes (68.8%) with four touchdowns. He also carried the ball 34 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

“Mike has the chance to be an elite quarterback in this league,” says Eskimo GM Ed Hervey. “This is a step toward stabilizing our quarterback position.”

Reilly, who under the terms of his contract would have been eligible for free agency in February, has signed an extension with the green and gold. As per club policy, the terms of the contract are not disclosed.

In addition to Reilly, the Esks acquire the Lions’ second round pick (14th overall) in the 2013 CFL Canadian Draft in exchange for Edmonton’s second round pick (11th overall) in the 2013 CFL Canadian Draft and a second round draft pick in the 2014 CFL Canadian Draft.
