The Western Hockey League announced today that Max Paddock of the Regina Pats has been named the WHL Eli Wilson Goaltending Goaltender of the Week and league nominee for the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 11, 2018.

Paddock posted a 2-0-0-0 record, 0.50 goals-against-average, and stopped 59 of 60 shots for a 0.983 save percentage while also recording the first shutout of his WHL career.

Friday, Paddock stopped 39 of 40 shots sent his way as the Pats defeated the Tri-City Americans by a 5-1 score. Paddock stopped 14 shots in the first, 15 in the second, and 10 more in the third for the victory, Regina’s first at home against the Americans since February 27, 2007. Paddock was named the first star of the game due to his efforts.

A night later, Paddock earned the first shutout of his WHL career, stopping all 20 shots sent his way in a 2-0 win against the Swift Current Broncos at the Brandt Centre. Paddock stopped four shots in the first, five in the second, and 11 in the third to preserve the clean sheet.

Paddock’s strong play is a big part of why the Pats have won three-straight games and only four points out of a wild card spot. Originally selected in the 10th round, 212th overall, by the Pats in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft, Paddock has posted a 5-10-0-0 record this season with a 3.82 GAA, 0.883 SV%, and one shutout.

Overall, the 6-foot-2, 161-pound product of Brandon, Man. has appeared in 54 WHL regular season games, posting a 28-18-1-1 record, 3.19 GAA, 0.897 SV%, and a single shutout.

After concluding a five-game home stand, the Pats are out on the road for a six-game trip through British Columbia as part of seven-straight games on the road. The trip begins with a contest against the Kootenay ICE on Tuesday, November 12 (7:00 p.m. MT) at Western Financial Place.
