--Johnny Football is Johnny Starting QB again. Alouettes coach Mike Sherman announced Johnny Manziel will start at quarterback for his team Friday in Winnipeg. The move comes after Antonio Pipkin had a rough outing last week against BC. He was 2-2 after taking over for an injured Manziel.
--More receiver problems for Calgary. Davaris Daniels suffered a broken collarbone in Hamilton on the weekend. Daniels is the third Calgary receiver to go down joining Kamar Jorden who is out for the year and Eric Rogers.
--The Chicago Bears sacked Russell Wilson five times in the first half as they beat the Seahawks 24-17 in the NFL Monday nighter. A pick six by Prince Amakamura late in the 4th sealed the deal for the Bears who are 1-1. Seattle is 0-2.
--Darnell Nurse has a new contract. The restricted free agent signed a 2 year deal worth 6.4 million dollars.
--Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich on Monday night became the first player in major league history to hit for the cycle against the same team twice in one season.Yelich, who hit for the cycle against the Cincinnati Reds on Aug. 30, accomplished the rare feat again less than three weeks later. He's just the fifth player ever to hit for multiple cycles in the same season.
