What Did You Miss Friday?


--Noah Picton and the Regina Rams had no problems in Edmonton against Alberta. Picton threw for over 400 yards and three touchdowns as the Rams evened their record at 1-1 with a 51-13 blowout of the Golden Bears. The Rams outscored Alberta 31-0 in the 2nd half.  Ryan Schienbein had a career night catching 13 passes for 176 yards and three touchdowns.  UBC is here next Friday.

--Veteran B.C. Lions quarterback Travis Lulay has been sidelined with another injury. The 34-year-old left the Lions' matchup with the Ottawa Redblacks at the end of the second quarter Friday after he was sandwiched in between hits from Ottawa's Rico Murray and J.R. Taval. The Lions said on Twitter that Lulay was undergoing concussion protocol and ``doubtful to return.'' Jonathan Jennings replaced Lulay to start the second half.  BC won the game 26-14.

--Crezdon Butler and Mic'hael Brooks are back on the roster for the Riders as they are in Winnipeg Saturday afternoon. Game time is 2 on 620 CKRM

--The accolades keep piling up for Toronto Blue Jays prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Just two days after being named MLB Pipeline’s Hitter of the Year, Guerrero Jr. earned Baseball America’s Minor League Player of the Year honours. It’s the latest achievement for young slugger, who slashed a gaudy .381/.437/.636 in 95 games across four levels of the minors this season.

--Tigers television announcers Mario Impemba and Rod Allen have been suspended for the rest of the season after allegedly getting into a physical altercation earlier this week.Fox Sports Detroit announced the decision Friday. The popular longtime pair reportedly tangled in the broadcast booth Tuesday before a game in Chicago against the White Sox."After speaking with all involved parties, Fox Sports Detroit has decided not to schedule Rod Allen and Mario Impemba for any future Tigers telecasts this season," network spokeswoman Courtney Welch said in a statement. "Since this is an internal matter, we will have no further comment."
