What Did You Miss Friday?

--The U of R Rams took advantage of a second chance to beat UBC 19-17 in Canada West football action.  Rams kicker Aldo Galvan missed a 40 yard field goal, but a pair of unnecessary roughness calls on the T-Birds allowed Galvan to have another chance from the 10 which he didn't miss.  Regina is now 2-1 on the season.  They are in Saskatoon next Friday night for the first of two against the Huskies.

--Lions quarterback Travis Lulay suffered a dislocated left shoulder in BC's 32-14 win at Montreal. Lulay took a big hit from John Bowman after a throw and stayed down for a while before being helped off the field in the 1st quarter.  Jonathan Jennings went the rest of the way.

--Nothing official from the Regina Red Sox, but there are reports manager Mitch McDonald says he is done after three years on the job so he can focus on family.  The Red Sox got to the league final this past year before being beaten by Medicine Hat.   It is expected he will remain with the organization in some capacity.

--The Pats lost their last pre-season game of the year 5-2 to Prince Albert.   Logan Nijhoff had both for Regina who finish the pre-season at 3-3.  They are in Prince Albert Friday to open the season with the Raiders back at the Brandt Centre the next night.

--The Toronto Blue Jays turned down a trade last winter that would have sent Josh Donaldson to the St. Louis Cardinals  for a package that would have included rookie sensation Jack Flaherty, according to a new report from Bob Nightengale of U.S A. Today.   The 22-year-old Flaherty has played an integral role for the Cardinals in their push for the playoffs. Heading into Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the right-hander had made 24 starts this season, authoring a 2.92 ERA while striking out 160.

Toronto Blue Jays are not worthy of having a MLB francise. They should relocate to Montreal asap.

I've had the opportunity to kick footballs around at mosaic stadium regina sask. That stadium is all wrong, not a very good build, obviously not thought out. Those swirling winds at field level even on a calm day terrible atrocious. Pity thosevthose kickers saskatchewan.
