Wrestling (Women's U SPORTS Raking: No. 5 / Men's U SPORTS Ranking: No. 7) – The Cougars competed at the Canada West Championships hosted by the University of Alberta on the weekend, with 11 Cougar wrestlers earning medals. Lucas Hoffert, Nathen Schmidt and Waylon Decoteau all won gold medals for the men's team, which finished second in the overall standings. Four Cougar women won silver medals, as Amber Wiebe, Miki Rowbottom, Inga Hammer and Jessica Rabet placed second in their divisions. The Cougars will compete at the U SPORTS Championships hosted by Algoma University on Feb. 23-24.

Women's Volleyball – The Cougars closed their 2017-18 regular season schedule at the CKHS against Manitoba on the weekend. The Bisons swept the Cougars with three-set wins both nights, as Regina finishes the season with a 12-12 record. The rest of the conference will finish off the regular season this weekend, as Regina will wait and see if they have done enough to earn a playoff spot.

Women's Hockey – The Cougars capped off the Canada West regular season with two wins against Lethbridge at The Co-operators Centre, winning 4-3 in double overtime on Friday and 3-2 in regulation on Saturday. Lilla Carpenter-Boesch tallied four goals on the weekend, including a hat trick in Saturday's win. Regina will take to the road for the first round of the Canada West playoffs this weekend, visiting Edmonton to battle with the No. 2-ranked Alberta Pandas. The Cougars won one of the four regular season meetings against the Pandas this year.

Track & Field - The Cougars split the squad last weekend, with the majority of the team heading up to Edmonton for the Pandas Open and some staying behind in Regina to compete in the Lipsett Cartage Classic. Reagan Fedak had the highlight in Regina by becoming the first U of R athlete to automatically qualify for the 2018 U SPORTS Championships after her toss of 17.19 metres in the weight throw gave her first place in the event, broke her own school record, and hit the national standard. Alex Eiswerth had a strong showing in Edmonton for the Cougars, scoring first-place finishes in both the 1000-metre run (2:27.55) and the 1500-metre run (3:54.26), with his winning time in the 1500 also going down as a school record. The Cougars also had first-place finishes from Molly Yungmann in the pentathlon (3236 points), the women's 4x400-metre relay team (school-record 3:57.17), and the men's 4x400 team (3:25.28).

Men's Hockey – Regina closed the Canada West regular-season schedule on the road against Lethbridge last weekend. The Cougars lost 5-2 on Friday but finished the season with a win, taking a 6-4 decision the following afternoon. Captain Cody Fowlie had himself quite a weekend, scoring four goals and adding two assists over the weekend set.

Women's Basketball (U SPORTS Ranking: No. 2) – The Cougars are coming off a bye week and will host the UBC Thunderbirds in a Canada West quarterfinal series this weekend at the CKHS. Regina (18-2) placed first in the Canada West standings while UBC went 10-10 but won a play-in game against Lethbridge last weekend. Regina won both games against UBC in the regular season, picking up road wins by scores of 81-54 and 72-56.

Men's Basketball – The Cougars rolled past Thompson Rivers in a Canada West play-in game at the CKHS last weekend, winning 93-68 on the strength of 18 points and eight rebounds from Shaquille Harris. Regina will hit the road this weekend for a Canada West best-of-three quarterfinal series against Lethbridge. The Cougars won both regular-season matchups against Lethbridge, taking 79-77 and 92-79 wins at the CKHS in November.

Men's Volleyball – The Cougars wrapped up the Canada West season with home matches against Manitoba on the weekend, falling in three sets on Friday and four on Saturday. Matthew Aubrey piled up 13 kills on Saturday while Brennan Goski (12) and Dalton Wolfe (11) also hit double digits.
