Canada Beats The U-S At WJHC

Goals by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ryan Strome in the first period were all Team Canada needed as they improved to 3-0 at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Russia this morning with a 2-1 win over the United States.

Goalie Malcolm Subban quieted his critics for the time being by stopping 36 of 37 shots as Canada put the U-S on the brink of not making it to the medal round.

Canada will have forwards JC Lipon and Boone Jenner back for its final game in their pool which is against the host Russians. That game goes tomorrow morning at 730 our time. The winner advances right through to the semi-final.
