--Saskatchewan Roughriders CEO Craig Reynolds used 620 CKRM's Sportscage to announce the team is bidding for the 2020 Grey Cup.  Reynolds says they are putting the final touches on a bid that will be presented either later this month or next in hopes of bringing the game back to Regina for a 4th time with this one being the first at Mosaic Stadium.  Having the game in 2020 would coincide with the Riders 110th anniversary.

--The Milwaukee Brewers and LA Dodgers have moved into the baseball playoffs as division champs.  Milwaukee beat Chicago 3-1 to win a one-game tiebreaker to determine the National League Central winner while LA beat Colorado 5-2 to determine who wins the NL West.  The Rockies are in Chicago on Tuesday in the one-game National League wild-card game with the winner facing Milwaukee.  The Dodgers will play the Braves in the other National League Divisional Series.

--Prince Albert Raiders goalie Ian Scott was named the WHL goalie of the week.  The Leafs draft pick posted a pair of wins while also maintaining a 2.00 goals-against-average, and stopping 63 of 67 shots for a 0.940 save percentage as the Raiders moved to 5-0-0-0 on the season.

--With the NHL season about to start, EA Sports is predicting the Leafs to win the Stanley Cup.   A simulation of NHL 19 has Toronto beating San Jose to win the championship with free-agent acquisition John Tavares being named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner.  The website "The Hockey Writers" also did a simulation with the Stanley Cup winner being the Dallas Stars.

--Patrick Mahomes and Kareem Hunt carried the Kansas City Chiefs out of a 10-point fourth quarter deficit to remain undefeated with a 27-23 victory over the Denver Broncos on Monday night. Mahomes led two touchdown drives over the final 6:27 and Hunt scored on a 4-yard touchdown with 1:39 remaining to give the Chiefs the lead. KC is 4-0 on the season

--Regina Rams linebacker Cole Benkic was selected as the defensive player of the week by Canada West.  Benkic knocked down a potential game-winning two point convert pass in overtime to give Regina a 32-31 win over Manitoba on Saturday.  Benkic also forced two fumbles including one deep in Rams territory to snuff out a scoring drive.

Just about drove off the highway when I heard Reynolds say that to RP. How can the CFL say no?

Too bad about your Cubs Scruffy. Actually, no it's not. Here's hoping the Rockies lay another L on them to end the season.

Why won't the CFL stage another Grey Cup in Hamilton? It has been over 20 years. Is there a reason for this? I would think the Ti-Cats would be itching to get the game there. What am I missing?

Here's hoping EA Sports is wrong with their prediction!

Maybe because there's about 2 hotels in downtown Hamilton.
