What Did You Miss Saturday?

--There were a lot of goal celebrations by the Brandon Wheat Kings at the Brandt Centre Saturday night.  They scored five times--two of them short-handed within 28 seconds of one another--as they beat Regina 7-3. The Pats are now 1-5 on the season.

--Jonathan Toews had the hat-trick as Chicago beat St. Louis 5-4 in NHL play on Saturday night. Other highlights included Montreal defeating Pittsburgh 5-1, Ottawa bounced Toronto 5-3 and New Jersey beat Edmonton 5-2 in a game played in Goteborg, Sweden.

--Complete chaos at the end of UFC 229.  After submitting Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagemodov jumped out of the octagon and attacked McGregor's trainer while several members of his team jumped inside the cage and attacked McGregor.  UFC President Dana White said after it was a bad night for the UFC and that three members of Nurmagemedov's team had been arrested.  He added Nurmagemedov, who keeps the lightweight title, could be facing a suspension.

--After having a war of words with his general manager, Lions quarterback Jonathan Jennings threw for 199 yards and a touchdown while running for 47 more as BC beat Toronto 26-23 to keep hopes of a playoff spot alive.  GM Ed Hervey had been quoted as saying he questions Jennings' committment level as to which the quarterback's agent responded by saying Jennings is one of the first players in the building each day which Hervey would know if he wasn't one of the last guys there.

--Gary Sanchez hit two homers as the Yankees evened up their ALDS with Boston with a 6-2 win in Game 2. One of the homers was a 479 foot blast.  The series resumes in New York Monday.  Houston beat Cleveland 3-1 to take a 2-0 lead in that best of five series.  Gerrit Cole struck out 12 in seven innings of work.

Long ways to go this year, but I don't know if the Pats win 20 games. Where was Max Paddock this weekend?
