Tillman Update

Rider GM Eric Tillman has had his latest court appearance on his sexual assault charge. The matter has been adjourned until April 7.
Meanwhile what I think should be a great first round matchup in the WHL playoffs will be beamed into our living rooms.

CALGARY, AB - Ron Robison, Commissioner of the Western Hockey League, announced today that the entire first round series of the 2009 WHL Playoffs between the 2009 WHL East Division Champion Saskatoon Blades (2) and the 2008 WHL Eastern Conference Champion Lethbridge Hurricanes (7) will be televised LIVE on SHAW TV and Star Choice throughout Western Canada. This is the fifth consecutive year that SHAW has provided LIVE television coverage of the WHL Playoffs.

SHAW TV will provide extensive coverage of the 2009 WHL Playoffs by broadcasting a LIVE full series in round two of the 2009 WHL Playoffs, a WHL Conference Championship Series and the entire WHL Championship Series. Following the conclusion of each round of the 2009 WHL Playoffs, the WHL and SHAW TV will announce the next series that will be broadcast.

The first two games of the Saskatoon Blades – Lethbridge Hurricanes series can be seen LIVE on SHAW TV from the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon starting at 7:00 pm MT on Friday, March 20th and Saturday, March 21st.

The following is the schedule for the Saskatoon Blades – Lethbridge Hurricanes best of seven opening round series:

Fri. Mar. 20 - Lethbridge @ Saskatoon; (7:00pm MT)Sat. Mar. 21 - Lethbridge @ Saskatoon; (7:00pm MT)Tues. Mar. 24 - Saskatoon @ Lethbridge: (7:00 pm MT)Wed. Mar. 25 - Saskatoon @ Lethbridge: (7:00 pm MT)Sat. Mar. 28 - Lethbridge @ Saskatoon; (7:00pm MT)*Mon. Mar. 30 - Saskatoon @ Lethbridge: (7:00 pm MT)*Wed. Apr. 1 - Lethbridge @ Saskatoon; (7:00pm MT)*(* - if necessary)

This partnership between SHAW and the WHL has been gold as far as this junior hockey fan is concerned. For those reading this in Regina, the games will be on Access as well and let me just add the fine folks at Channel 7 led by director Kevin Foote do a pretty good job when it comes to the Pats broadcasts they have each and every year. (Perhaps they just want to get a better play-by-play guy!!! :) )

Lethbridge-Saskatoon will be an outstanding series. I'm glad we are getting this one and not Calgary destroying either PA or Edmonton.

Too bad my SaskTel MAX doesn't bother looking for provincial sports coverage
