Lottery Sells Out Again

At 11:00 am today, Tom Shepherd, President of the Friends of Riders, made the announcement that the Friends of the Riders Touchdown Lottery 2009 has sold out.

This is the first time since the inception of the lottery in 1986 that the lottery has sold out by a mid-September date.

As a result of the early sell-out, the final draw for the 1,171 major prizes valued in excess of $1.7 million will now take place September 23rd beginning at 4 pm. All lottery ticket holders are welcome to join Shepherd in the Harvard Broadcasting Green & White Lounge at Mosaic Stadium for the draw. Ticket holders can also listen to 620 CKRM Radio for an up-to-the-minute list of winners.

The 25 Early Bird prizes valued at $103,000 will be drawn this evening as regularly scheduled.

The results of both draws and a list of winners will appear in the September 26th editions of the Leader Post, the Saskatoon Star Phoenix and the Prince Albert Daily Herald. It will also be posted on the Riders website at or on
