Pat Canadians Win Macs Tournament
For the first time in history, the Regina Pat Canadians have won the Macs Midget Hockey Tournament in Calgary.
After going to triple overtime in the semi-final to advance, the Pat Canadians showed no ill effects from that marathon game as they blanked Red Deer 4-0 to win the 40th edition of the tournament.
Regina got a pair of goals from Jaydon Dureau with Matthew Culling and Chase Nameth getting the others. Dureau also had assists on those goals to have a four point night.
Jared Thompson had 16 shots to record the shutout.
The girls final went to Rocky Mountain, Alberta as they beat the Prince Albert Bears 6-2.
