Rider Plates Selling Well

Rider fans blitzed SGI offices over the past week in order to be among the first to own a new Saskatchewan Roughrider licence plate.

As of this morning, six days after the plates became available, SGI has received 3,508 orders for Rider plates.

"SGI has given Rider fans another way to show their passion and support for their favourite team, and we are just thrilled with the response," Minister responsible for SGI June Draude said. "Pride truly does live here."

After covering administration costs, SGI is providing net revenues earned from the sale of Rider plates to the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club.

"We are very excited about how this special and unique opportunity has been embraced by the province," Riders President and CEO Jim Hopson said. "Thanks to our great partnership with SGI, Rider fans can take their pride with them wherever they travel."

Rider plates can be ordered from any SGI motor licence issuer throughout the province. The cost for a single Rider plate is $50 plus GST. Fans can also buy a duplicate plate to display on the front of their vehicle for an additional $20 plus GST.

Personalized Rider licence plates cost an additional $75 plus GST, over and above the $50 plus GST cost. Existing personalized licence plates that have five characters or less can be moved to a Rider plate for the Rider plate fee of $50 plus GST plus a $20 charge for plate replacement.

More information on ordering Rider licence plates is available at www.sgi.sk.ca.
