I talked about Vin Scully earlier this week and what a pleasure it is to listen to him doing baseball on television or radio. Another guy who unfortunately we won't hear any more is that of Harry Kalas. The hall of fame broadcaster died today in the broadcast booth just hours before the Philadelphia Phillies--the team he had worked for for years--were to play the Washington Nationals. This is his call of the last out of last year's World Series giving the Phillies the title....
If the voice sounds familiar, it should. Kalas also did a lot of work for NFL films. He was one of the best! He was 73.
