WHL/WJHC Ex Game at Mosaic Stadium????

I told you earlier this week about a rumour that a WHL game could be played outside at Mosaic Stadium. I am hearing today--and again this is just a rumour that not only would there be one outdoor game at the stadium but two. I have heard the Saskatoon Blades and Regina Pats would play one game with the second game being an exhibition game between Team Canada and Sweden just days before the start of the tournament. If this comes to fruition, I am all for it!!! Again I stress this is just a rumour.

That would be friggin' sweet, I would sign-up for both!

Do you think they could sell out 38,000 seats?

Might be too cold to do that!

If rumour becomes fact I am there. Any idea as to when this might be announced if it indeed is going to happen.

$1000000 (cost of installing the ice and boards etc, based on cost given by Dan Craig during the PIT Vs BUF Winter Classic) divide by 28000 (they realistically can not sell a good seat on the turf because of sight lines and cost so your limited to 28000) divided by 2 (possible games) is still a pretty high ticket price for JR hockey. Unlike the NHL who has ancillary revenue like TV and sponsors it seems like a very large pipe dream and why would Team Canada, Sweden, Pats & Blades risk the safety of their players on uncertain ice conditions or weather conditions...
